Enfranchisement
If you are the owner of a leasehold flat or house, or the landlord of a building, there are laws in place giving you rights. These can add value to your property. These rights have been improved and extended by the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002.
The key rights are:
- Extension of your individual lease
- A right to buy the freehold of a leasehold house
- A collective right given to the lessees to manage their blocks of flats
Our property team has substantial experience and a proven track record in acting for individual lessees, landlords and residents associations in these matters.
We will guide you through this complex area of law, using our expertise to achieve the best outcome for you. Having good links with professional firms of surveyors, valuers and managing agents we can also recommend other suitable firms for you.
Our fees are competitive and we offer fixed fee estimates for most cases.
LZW is on the solicitors list of The Leasehold Advisory Service (LEASE) and The Association of Leasehold Enfranchisement Practitioners (ALEP).
